Paper Wardrobe

Paper, cardboard and papier-mâché are familiar to all of us. They bring back memories of kinder-garden and our first experiences of making things.

Later, whilst at the academy, I experimented with making products out of paper and cardboard. I created a series of cradles out of old boxes that I glued together, initially due to a lack of money and ease, but then out of fascination.

Studio Job to create a collection of paper furniture for the general public. Inspired by classic icons but manufactured like modern day furniture, this collection is an ode to classical style and to the material.
Monumental and light, transitory and timeless.
Innovative Kitchen Concept

Have fun creating your kitchen! Lago has released an innovative kitchen concept that draws on creative forms and dimensions to shape your kitchen. These 36e8 kitchen "non-kitchen" suites are incredibly attractive, not only in their stunning colours and sleek surfaces, but also in their versatility: The Lago storage units can be positioned horizontally or vertically and can be combined in a variety of ways to create your perfect kitchen. For example, you can stack the units like building blocks to produce forms such as trees, lobsters, etc! Thanks to extra-clear plate crystal supports, the bases can also be suspended and can extend into the middle of the room, creating the illusion of a floating counter. The design also incorporates the use of the N.O.W (Not Only White) system through the accessories and equipment, as well as through the possibility of internal integration of refrigerators and ovens. The premise of these innovative kitchen suites resides in warmth and practicality, and seeks to remove the over-loaded kitchens of the past.
Workshelter

Workshelter defines a place of retreat for deliberation, concentration and solitary work. Workshelter's worktop is screened by two felt-lined walls which isolate the user both visibly and physically. The felt lining is acoustically effective and not only protects the workstation within Workshelter from extraneous noise but also increases the sound absorption surface in the room. Workshelter, an important element of the Net 'n' Nest concept, can be rearranged at any time.
The Bent collection is available in the range of warm colours from yellow to red.
Bamboo lamp

designed by committee in 2007.
the bamboo lamp is a subtle hybrid of organic, shapely bamboo with a sharp, minimal silhouette and a high gloss finish. its natural curves blend with stylized curves to make a simple standard lamp which surprises with its quietly contradictory materials. a unique pull switch handle, plucked from somewhere in the world, now dangles like an earring beneath the bold, gathered shade, gently reminding us of the absurd and providing us with an invitation to perhaps untie the knot and replace it with an object of our own choice.
every pull-cord from the bamboo lamp is totally unique! bamboo lamp is made of bamboo stand, metal base and cotton stretched around metal frame.
uses a 1xE26 light bulb max. 100W. bulb not included.

The Garden Table and Bench from Zanotta is a perfect modern addition for your chic backyard area. Whether for dining or just a seating area, the steel frame is a sturdy but elegant decor item to your deck or garden. The table and benches are painted white or graphite for contemporary and modern looks. The table comes with an 8-mm thick laminate top, so you don’t have to worry about putting an ugly “outdoor” tablecloth out, just simply wipe off the table at the end of a meal. Upholstered seat cushions with removable fabric covers are available for the benches. A little splash of color on the benches will draw your eyes around the table, while not taking away from the clean, crisp lines of the table and benches themselves. The Garden Table and Bench are available online from Zanotta.
The Fantasy Collection

The creations in The Fantasy collection which Jaime Hayon has designed for Lladr? mirror the perfect fusion between the artistic quality of the Spanish porcelain brand and the playful, fantasy quality the designer brings to his works. The balance between expression and function, the studied combination of Lladr髵s usual themes and the magic of the unexpected that Hayon is known for, make these pieces truly original objects that, over and above their decorative potential, awaken a sense of fantasy in the beholder.
Swarovski Sparkle Shady

This new form of chandelier is a series of lampshades and not a structure allowing many possible variations and changes. One can combine several types and sizes to accumulate a desired effect. There is a second range of options regarding the skin?or each of these shades. These skins are also variable and their color can be chosen and eventually changed. This allows much choice both for initial color combinations as well as eventual desires to modify color choices after time. One is never limited to a single chandelier but has the option to make different chandeliers that are capable of being transformed throughout time. The flexibility and functionality of this variable piece is one of its greatest assets. Another should be the material itself. The natural beauty of the Swarovski crystals will allow an amazing game of light, even when it is not lit.
Mon Cirque

Mon Cirque is Hayon's vision of a large oniric metaphor. A place that symbolizes his hope of artistic freedom, where the designer's work is free to transcend the frontiers built between design and art. The classical colorfulness of the circus is replaced by a more serious and elegant contrast between black, white and gold: Cirque de lux.Vases become characters, clowns become lamps, plates used as canvas, tables grow legs. A sophisticated ambient replaces the decadent circus. A new world has been born: Mon Cirque. Craftsmanship is a key element to Mon Cirque. Avoiding the use of molds, a return to the hand made object where each piece is unique in its existence, like the characters they represent.
Green chicken

The chicken, a rather unexplored shape, found its place amongst my green dreams. I wanted to portray this common bird as a sensational object by amplifying its characteristics and dimensions, turning it into a modern piece, one of great beauty and utility: a rocking chair. The movement, subtle and constant, would give the object a zoom-like trait, a sense of speed and dynamism. My green chicken had taken on a face, a shape, a place and a function.
Mediterrenean Digital Baroque

The Mediterranean Digital Baroque exhibit opened at the David Gill Galleries in London in October 2003. The exhibit featured creatures that sign and defend the root of creation. The house. The head. Full of fake and plastic characters. Adult games. A virgin army defended by supersonic pigs. Engulfed in a metamorphic fragile traditional ceramic forest. A vital and ironic manifesto about this artist's personal comogony that is devised of mature languages from heterogenic worlds: his birthplace, Madrid and the Francophone culture from his childhood. Skateboarding from 揷ani?suburbs and baja California. Gestuality, surrealism, barroque, density, dynamism, intuition, dementia, risk, tenderness, berreber, mathematical warrior of nature, energetic strangth, delirium, hestrionic exaggeration, emulation and creativity.
Pallucco

Kubo-Kube, a cabinet within a cabinet, is a fusion piece of contemporary furniture. It is a hybrid between a cabinet and an exhibitor that presents the magic of what is shown and what is concealed. Things can be displayed or stored inside and out, revealing the difference of texture on objects exposed and those behind the glass shell. The idea for the Halo mirror parts from magic as well. Perhaps a more mystical magic: the sacred moment of being in front of the Sun. Its classically-organic frame contrasted with the digital space-like effect of the degraded reflexion, brings to life a memorable piece to experience.
Stage

Stage
Stage is a window into Jaime Hayon's world. It evidences the relevance of how experimentation and artistic research have been the platform for the work of this creator. Perhaps a recepy for new creative development in the present, Hayon has found a language that steps aside the dividing borders between art and design. Jaime Hayon's Stage is a journey of the artist/designer's professional path. It wishes to recover the relevance of process by showing a variety of his works. Constant evolution is part of the nature of this exhibit. As new work progreses, it becomes a new stage? Stage was first shown at the Aram Gallery, London, in september 2006. Stage Rotterdam will open its doors at the Vivid Gallery (Rotterdam) on January 14th until March 4.
Artquitect

The celebration of the bathroom as a piece of furniture. This bathroom shouts to be admired. Stylized, yet almost alive with shapes that combine the organic with minimal and colors that had never before seen in a bathroom. "I didn' want to approach AQ as a bathroom collection. Everything is so white, so clinical. And it's a room hidden from everyone. Why not treat it as furniture? And make a piece that can be used in any room of the house? So I introduced more explosive colors and unusual shapes that were both modern and classic?

Jon says: "I was simply amazed at what a dramatic effect these lightboxes produce. You抣l be looking for an opportunity to host a party just so you can show them off. The fact that they can be used as a stool or table as well as a wonderful lighting feature is why they have easily become my favorite new product."
this glowing floor light makes for a wonderful and functional accessory. it抯 a lamp, a stool, and a table all in one. a simple, irresistible way to add dramatic lighting to any space. the lightbox is made from roto-molded plastic ?a technique which yields a perfect cube with no outer seams. a light bulb is easily inserted from the underside of the cube, and the lamp can be controlled with a foot switch. the lightbox can support up to 200 lbs.

BD Showtime collection

Showtime Collection for BD Ediciones de Dise駉 is a home furniture collection inspired on classical MGM musicals. The concepts behind these pieces explore the contrast between what is external and internal. A combination between organic forms and classical details is key to its development. It exhibits passion for finding ways were things that are not supposed to match, coexist in elegance. Very innovative material combinations like plastic and leather were used to create this unique collection.
Tangram Shelf

Everything changes, everything can transform itself. A square in seven pieces combined with imagination to make new shapes come to life.

As a kid, tangrams were such a delight to me. Hours of my time would be spent on getting those seven pieces to form myriad shapes limited only by the complusions of creativity and time. So when I read that I can have one of those tangram shapes on my walls serving as shelves, I was naturally excited.

A brainchild of the Italian furniture design company, Lago, this floating "Shelf System" allows users to arrange the pieces in a variety of ways ranging from abstract geometric shapes to representations of people and animals. Apart from the designs shown in the pictures above, several other brilliant designs are available at the Lago site.

Egal Shelf

Egal is a shelf system with variable heights and variable widths of the compartments. The compartments with four different heights can be stacked and rearranged as desired. It does not matter where you put the sides, you may assemble and modify Egal after installation just as you please. The basis of the Egal-system is a base which is in four different widths available. In addition offers the system shift compartments and sliding doors, made of translucent plexiglass in different colours.

Also lockable doors were added to the Egal collection, which can be mounted onto individual compartments, rear walls allow Egal to function as a room separator as well.

TOGO Armchair

The first fully-foam settee, at once simple and refined – perfect for an easy, untramelled way of life. The low seat platform, together with the undulating curves of the seat and back, invite relaxation. A true classic, Togo has enjoyed unparalleled success since the 1970’s. Its designer, Michel Ducaroy, has brought limitless possibilities to the world of sitting. Togo is made from layers of polyether foam in a range of complementary thicknesses and densities. Its cover, which is generously quilted with polyester, may only be removed by an upholsterer; therefore, the most suitable covering materials will be leather, or easy-care microfibres such as Glove, Loop and Alcantara. Range comprises fireside chair, small settee, large settee, corner piece and footstool. New for 2006: the ideal ‘relax settee’, that is, a 2-seat settee with arms.

A new dimension in sitting and reclining has been created with Lava: Studio Vertijet has developed a model which is sitting-reclining furniture in one. Its flowing forms invite you to relax in different sitting and reclining positions - on several levels. The vertical variance reaches down to the floor. Soft, upholstered mats transform even this surface into part of the furniture. Futher, constanly new forms and figures emerge by moving the back rests horizontally or with the variable use of special reclining elements. Lava is furniture, lanscape and sculpture. In a word, the renewal of seating culture.

Three Skin Chair

For Moroso, Ron Arad has trod a strongly materials-oriented path, from polyethylene upholstery to wood. His successful Victoria and Albert collection was followed by the Little Albert and The Big E armchairs in polyethylene.
The Three Skin Chair presented this year was produced using wood for the first time. Powerfully sculptural and extremely sinuous, Three Skin Chair is in multilayered lacquered wood.

mixer faucet wall panel

The main focus of the water inlet, which bulthaup has developed as a complement to the water point, is its functionality. The head, which was developed by bulthaup and sits directly on the outlet, is not only a real eye-catcher, but it also allows the user to control the pressure and temperature with just one hand. This is very useful, e.g. if the user has to hold a heavy pan with both hands and has only a few fingers free to actuate the operating head.
The mixer faucet, with its stainless steel or aluminum-colored surface is ideal for bulthaup b3 and for system 20. With bulthaup b3, however, it not only rises up from the worktop but can also optionally originate from the wall or the functional box.
bulthaup's mixer faucets have a specially-developed head, positioned directly on the outlet, that does more than just look fantastic. The user can control the pressure and temperature with just one hand.

Camp floor lamp

With a Pop and avantgarde aesthetic, Jakob Timpe has created with the Camp lamp a big polypropylene structure. The flexibiliy of its neck reproduces the movement of the straws used to drink sodas. It is capable of adapting to any lighting need and position. Round shapes, a long body, flexibility and sobriety. Slender and elegant, the Camp can be directed anywhere a concentrated amount of light is needed. Comprised of a large cone fused together with a smaller one by a flexible neck, the lamp guarantees a stable position from which a beam of light can be pointed in any direction. Thanks to its multiple positions the Camp can create a pleasant atmosphere of indirect light when focused towards the ceiling while the dimmer is able to controle the beam with precision
Globus Station

In the hustle and bustle of the modern office, everyone tries to divide their time as flexibly as possible. Globus is a mobile work station (flexi-station) in two guises. In its closed form, this work station fascinates and intrigues. It hides its function and excites curiosity. In its open form, the work station is inviting and multifunctional. In fact, the Globus is a flexible, mobile, all-in-one work station with a work-top and a comfortable swivel chair. So there’s a place for you everywhere and at every minute of the day. A product of vision. A vision of what a flexible and mobile work station should be. The Globus has been developed by Lande Productie Schijndel BV in The Netherlands for Artifort and Gispen.
Globus is a beautiful, multifunctional, space-saving work station that’s equally at home in a public environment or an office. Globus is also ideal for use in a hotel lobby or airport business lounge.
