LoVa is a true artist of combination and offers you more than 60 different configuration options thanks to varous seat depths, seat widths and extending elements. A matching ottoman is available additionally.

The e_series Container from Team by Wellis has won several awards and was chosen by the magazine Raum und Wohnen in 2004 as the furniture of the decade. The endless potential of such a stroke of design genius is highlighted in impressive fashion by the advancements that the team around Kurt
Erni has achieved.
The use of walnut in cross-grain veneer gives the container a dynamic dimension and makes every piece produced into an unmistakable unique object. Nature has also played an active part in the design,
creating a sculpture in wood with a vital signifi cance of its own.
As an exciting contrast, Team by Wellis presents a cooler version in black MDF. The shelf elements in this material have an extremely prominent and structured look, almost slightly detached. Both versions can be integrated into the most diverse living and offi ce environments and produce an
eff ect like self-contained sculptures. Primarily,
though, they perform quite practical purposes; they off er plenty of space to store valuables, prized items and all the things that people like to have to hand at
any time, in a beautiful and structured way.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair and Stool (1929), originally created to furnish his German Pavilion at the International Exhibition in Barcelona, have come to epitomize modern design. Mies van der Rohe designed the chair to serve as seating for the king and queen of Spain, while the stool was intended to accommodate their attendants. Still produced to his original specifications, this Barcelona is of quality fit for royalty. The cushions - welting and buttons included - come from a single Spinneybeck¿ Volo cowhide and are supported by cowhide belting straps, dyed to match the color of the chair. To create the deep, precise tufting, individual panels of leather are cut, hand welted and hand tufted. The chromed-steel frame is hand buffed to mirror-like perfection. The Barcelona Chair was honored with the Museum of Modern Art Award in 1977.

A modular system, Box 01 is constructed of 2.5 mm thin steel plate with a RAL 9006 powdered coating. The stackable models come with magnetic bases, which makes them easy to stack. They can easily be rearranged to create surprising shapes, which can be altered to suit individual tastes. Because of its special design, Box can also be used in a free-standing position, for use on one or both sides, in open or closed arrangements. Adjustable feet are standard. The wall units can be mounted with the user area facing front or sideways.

c3 − floating lightness
The bulthaup c3 table features a lightweight appearance and superlative functionality. The table top has been adapted to the material thickness of the bulthaup b3 kitchen system's worktop. The floating bench is suspended in the multi-functional wall's steel skeleton. Its thin material thickness and accentuation of the horizontal lines highlight the appearance of lightness. And it's not just kitchens that can be fitted with the new floating or floor-standing c3 bench. Living rooms, foyers, stores and many other areas can enjoy this luxury too.

CH 24 was designed as far back as 1949 and is therefore the first of Wegner's chairs for Carl Hansen & Son.
The Y-chair or The Wishbone Chair as it is often called due to the shape of the back, is a light chair and even being an armchair a relatively small piece of furniture. The curved hind legs and the semicircular top rail together with the elegant Y-back endows the chair with a gracious and welcoming air.
Comfort and use:
The CH 24 sits well and its spaciousness allows its user to change position. The back offers good support and most people will feel comfortable in it for a longer period of time. The curved top rail makes it easy to move around the chair, and though the arm rests are long enough to give adequate support to your forearms the chair can still be pushed in close to a table.
Consequently the Y-chair is very versatile and is an obvious choice for dining rooms where space is a factor or where you want to create the impression of spaciousness.
Popularity:
Today the Y-chair has developed into being Wegner's and Carl Hansen's most popular chair by far. When it was first introduced, however, its recognition was not overly positive and only a handful of retailers bought it for their showrooms. But to the astonishment of most, the consumers liked it, and during the following 15 years sales increased to make it the leader in Carl Hansens collection.
50% of the annual production of 17.000 pieces is sold in Denmark, and the rest is exported a.o. to Japan which alone takes another 25% of the production.

With his iconic seating collection, Harry Bertoia transformed industrial wire rods into a new furniture form. The events that made this work possible began a decade earlier at Cranbrook Academy of Art when Bertoia met Florence Knoll Bassett (then Florence Schust). Years later, the Italian-born designer was invited to work for Florence and her husband Hans Knoll. The terms were favorable to the artist and Bertoia was given the freedom to work on whatever suited him, without being held to a strict design agenda. The result of this arrangement was the Bertoia Seating Collection (1952). Featuring a delicate filigreed appearance that s supremely strong, these airy seats are sculpted out of steel rods. In his art, Bertoia experimented with open forms and metal work, and these chairs were an extension of that work. If you look at the chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture, said Bertoia. Space passes through them. The white lounge chairs can be used outdoors with proper care and limited exposure to the elements. Manufactured by Knoll according to the original and exacting specifications of the designer. Made in Italy.

Verner Panton s cantilevered stacking chair (1960) was the first single-material and single-form chair to be made and has been produced by Vitra through three decades of development in plastics technology. This version consists of a single piece of strong, flexible polypropylene. As striking as modern sculpture, this classic piece is appropriately durable and easy to clean in cafes or restaurants, and is comfortable enough to use as an occasional chair in an office or residence. Over time, color may fade if exposed to sunny or marine environments for long periods.

The Series 7 Chair debuted in 1955 at the H55 exhibition in Sweden, and the appeal of what remains one of the most copied chairs of the modern era is its shape. The chair is ideally suited to the human body, its seatback has a comfortable "give" and its waterfall seat edge doesn't press into legs. Arne Jacobsen, who was instilled with a love of materials, shaped the core of Danish design identity when he accommodated three different bends in one piece of plywood, simply by narrowing the chair back. Once made by hand, production is now automated and led by a team who ensure the authentic Series 7 is perfect every time. Suitable for contract use. Stacks 6 high.

In the 1940s, Charles and Ray Eames began experimenting with wood-molding techniques that used thin sheets of wood veneer to construct a wide range of shapes. Those experiments have had a profound effect on the world of design, giving way to the Molded Plywood Lounge Chair, LCW (1946). One of the most innovative and influential designs of the 20th century, the LCW is constructed of eight- and five-ply molded plywood, with a contoured seat and back. The Eameses experimented with a number of exotic woods while creating their iconic plywood furniture. And now DWR and Herman Miller are honoring this tradition with a special edition LCW in santos palisander veneer. Sustainably harvested, santos palisander is a Brazilian rosewood with a distinct and highly varied grain pattern. During the first year of production the santos palisander LCW will come with a commemorative medallion on the bottom and a certificate of authenticity.

When Charles and Ray Eames designed the Eames Aluminum Management Chair and Side Chair (1958), they created a revolution in seating that has lost none of its edge. These chairs were originally developed as a special project for a private residence being designed by Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard. Moving away from the Eameses shell forms of the 1940s and exploring newly affordable aluminum, the designers constructed a lightweight, corrosion-resistant and die-cast frame. They wrapped the frame in a sling a sitting pocket that subtly conforms to the body s shape and gave it a wide seat for leisurely sitting. The Cygnus Mesh upholstery, introduced by Herman Miller in 2001, was specifically engineered to fit the characteristics of the Eames Aluminum Group. The mesh material is a self contouring, flexible material that provides even weight distribution and long term comfort. Set on a five-point base, these chairs sit on tubular steel columns and swivel for easy entry and exit.

the Soft Pad Chair may be used successfully in a variety of home and office settings. In the dining area, for example, each member of the family can adjust the height and angle of the chair to his or her preference. The chair evolved from the Eames aluminum group - furniture originally developed for a private residence designed by Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard.

With the Meda Chair a synchronous process is set in motion when the user moves - without the usual synchronous mechhanism. Two pivots at the side cause the back of the chair to drop; at the same time the shape of the seat changes. This process is controlled by means of a pneumatic spring combined with a spiral spring, located between the back of the chair and the bridge, underneath the seat. This spring allows for free movement, or, in the revolving office version of the chair, can be locked in place at the touch of a button. The height can also be set at the press of a button. The upholstery is stretch-supported over the frame, ensuring that both backrest and seat have elasticity.

In continuous production since its introduction in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair is widely considered one of the most significant designs of the 20th century. In Charles Eames words, the vision was a chair with the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman s mitt.

Each handmade Vitra miniature is a classic in the history of furniture design reduced in size at a scale of 1:6. True to the original pieces in structure and materials, the miniatures are precision-crafted, making them a thoughtful gift for a furniture lover or design professional. Each miniature comes handsomely packaged in a wood box with an informational booklet.

Before the Swan Chair (1958), Arne Jacobsen's architecture and designs were shaped by an assumption of materials' natural ways of resisting. In other words, he could make them go only so far in becoming the structure he desired. With new technologies, however, the old rules no longer applied and he was able to shape fluid curves and single-piece molded shells. The Swan Chair is now made from polyurethane foam, but at the time, Jacobsen used Styropore¿ to create its continuous shape.

In a 1956 cover story in Time magazine, Eero Saarinen said he was designing a collection to clear up the slum of legs in the U.S. home. Later that year, he completed his Pedestal Table and Tulip Chair Collection and obliterated the slum by creating a cast aluminum base inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid. These pieces went into production in 1957, and to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, every table ordered between August 1, 2007 and August 1, 2008 will ship with an anniversary medallion and a commemorative edition of the certificate of authenticity. Also honoring the occasion is a new base color, platinum, which, like the black or white options, has an abrasion-resistant rilsan finish. The Marble 1 tables include three marble options. Calcutta white is an ivory marble with strong gold veins as well as veins varying from cream to green to grey. Arabescato marble is also ivory, but with dark grey veins; and nero marquina is a rich black marble with veins ranging from white to gold. Pedestal Tables come in a variety of materials (veneer, marble and laminate) and sizes (side, coffee and 35 -96 dining tables).

The voluptuous organic form of the Eames La Chaise was an evolution of plywood chairs developed a year earlier in collaboration with architect Eero Saarinen for the Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A startling innovation in chair design, its expressive outline was made possible by technological advances in molding fiberglass to create free-form shells for flexible seating. It is a dramatic piece for office reception areas, galleries and museums, and stylish residences. Manufactured by Vitra, one of the preeminent names in European furniture.

It was produced in collaboration with Zenith Plastics for the Museum of Modern Art’s Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition and was the first industrially manufactured plastic chair.

Sitting System 13

Before the Swan Chair (1958), Arne Jacobsen's architecture and designs were shaped by an assumption of materials' natural ways of resisting. In other words, he could make them go only so far in becoming the structure he desired. With new technologies, however, the old rules no longer applied and he was able to shape fluid curves and single-piece molded shells. The Swan Chair is now made from polyurethane foam, but at the time, Jacobsen used Styropore¿ to create its continuous shape.

When Florence Knoll challenged Finnish-born architect and designer Eero Saarinen in 1948 to create a chair that she could curl up in, she had found an apt candidate for the task. The Womb Chair s enveloping, lap-like form continues to be one of the most iconic and recognized representations of mid-century Scandinavian organic modernism. In fact, ask most designers and architects what lounge chair design they covet and they will promptly tell you it is the Womb Chair. By applying foam molded over a fiberglass shell, Saarinen was able to create a single-piece form that perfectly facilitated a relaxed sitting posture and a sublime feeling of security. Additional seat and back cushions and the separate, coordinating Womb Ottoman provide a further degree of lavish comfort. Knoll s signature boucle upholstery holds its own in terms of softness and appeal. The slender steel rod base is chrome-plated using a multiple step process that results in a flawlessly polished mirror finish.

Nicknamed the surfboard table, this elongated Elliptical Table (1951) exemplifies the delightful playfulness that enlivened the work of Charles and Ray Eames. It also reveals the couples practical side; their desire to create furniture that would become a part of a life lived with simplicity and beauty. Thus, the seven and half foot table sets the stage for a bowl of fresh flowers, a special work of art or a big picture book. Representing a whole new design language when it appeared in 1951, the table was re-issued by Herman Miller? in 1994. Its light wire base and long lean silhouette look just as refreshingly modern today as then.

The LC4 Chaise Longue (1928), dubbed the "relaxing machine," is a lounge that mirrors the body's natural curves while appearing to float above its supports. A tubular bow-shaped frame holds a bed of fabric or hide atop a rectilinear steel base. The moveable frame adjusts along the base from upright to full recline with ease, anticipating later ergonomic furniture. The LC4 is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Upholstery choices for the Chaise Longue include cowhide with black leather headrest; or all black leather; or natural canvas with black, chocolate or amber leather headrest and footrest.

An Eileen Gray 1927 classic that reflects the designer's functional style. It has a tubular chromed steel frame (not a stainless steel metal frame as on Chinese copies) and a crystal top made of toughened glass. Its adjustable height makes it highly practical: It can be used as a bed side table, a coffee table or as a side table in an office, in fact wherever a small table is needed.

The Le Corbusier group referred to their LC2 and LC3 collections as cushion baskets which they designed in 1928 as a modernist response to the traditional club chair. With cushions held in place without being tethered to the frame, the idea was to offer all the comfort of a padded surface while applying the elegant minimalism and industrial rationale of the International Style. Following the example of the LC1 Sling Chair, these pieces reverse the standard structures of sofas and chairs by having frames that are externalized. The resulting aesthetic of the simple tubular structure is remarkably relevant to how we live today, three-quarters of a century later. Thick, resilient pillows rest within the frames and provide the kind of sumptuousness rarely found in even the finest overstuffed conventional chairs. The differences among the groups are that the LC2 is more compactly scaled, and the LC3 has down-wrapped cushions that create a softer look and feel. Each piece is signed and numbered and, as a product of Cassina s Masters Collection, is manufactured by Cassina in Italy under exclusive worldwide license from the Le Corbusier Foundation.
It was indeed the masterpiece of 60's modern furniture.

Arne Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, as well as many of the furnishings. For its busy lobby, he created the biomorphic Egg (1958) and Swan, which are believed to be the first swiveling upholstered chairs. For a public area, the handcrafted Egg Chair is unique in that sitters can swivel toward the conversation area or away from others if privacy is desired. A tilt mechanism allows for relaxed lounging and the high back and curving elements are reminiscent of a traditional wing chair. Together they cocoon the sitter in a single-piece molded shell that appears to hover over the floor. Almost 50 years after its design, the Egg Chair is still used in advertising, film and television as a symbol of sophisticated urbanism

Charles Edouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, referred to a house as a machine for living, an industrial product that should include functional furniture or equipment de lhabitation. In this spirit, he designed a system of furniture with Charlotte Perriand and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. The groups LC10 Square Low Table (1928) was originally presented in the form of a desk at the 1929 Salon d Automne in Paris. With this piece, the framework is reduced to a minimum, leaving only the treatment of the metals on the tubular legs and side pieces to express the rationalist aesthetic that came to epitomize the International Style. In its present-day version, this table is manufactured using an idea pulled from the original working drawings by Charlotte Perriand. That idea was to make the legs and side pieces separately to ensure the highest quality finish. It also means that components of various sizes can be used to create tables more in line with present demand. Each piece is signed and numbered and, as a product of Cassinas Masters Collection, is manufactured by Cassina in Italy under exclusive worldwide license from the Le Corbusier Foundation

Incorporating his signature stylized cross form, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe¿s Barcelona Table (1927) expresses a clarity of form and materials that is immediately recognizable. The regal simplicity of the table¿s base is finely executed atop rests a 3/4" glass tabletop. The seamless, single-piece construction of the base ensures precision and durability. Originally designed for the Tugendhat House in Brno, Czechoslovakia, the table is often paired with the Barcelona Chair for their stylistic parallels. Absolute in its elegance, this classic design continues to refresh contemporary environments.

The PK61 base is stainless steel steel, the table tops are slate or light flint-rolled marble or glass.

Much of Poul Kj¿rholm's furniture was intended for his own home, located north of Copenhagen and designed by his wife, architect Hanne Kj¿rholm. His PK22 Easy Chair (1956) was inspired by the light, elegant klismos chair created by the ancient Greeks. With this piece, Kj¿rholm reduced the chair to three elements: legs, seat and connecting clamps. Such simplicity is true to the International Style, and the combination of a steel structure with natural materials was characteristic of his work. Through his disciplined approach, the chair's cantilevered seat is stabilized by a double cross beam that is precisely positioned so the body rests naturally without a hard front edge or top rail. Supple and flexible, the PK22 has a minimalist aesthetic that partners well with a low sofa.

In the early 1940s, when Charles Eames was working on MGM set designs, he would return to the small apartment where he and his wife, Ray-using thin sheets of wood veneer and bicycle pumps as compressors-were experimenting with wood-molding techniques that would have profound effects on the world of design. Their discoveries led to a commission from the U.S. Navy in 1942 to develop molded plywood splints, stretchers, and glider shells, the precursors of many revered designs-including this plywood side chair. Designed to fit the contours of the human body, its comfortable, practical, and lightweight.

Genuine innovation is rare. And perhaps no one has achieved it as often as Charles and Ray Eames. Their inventive design for this dining table makes functionality beautiful with an uncluttered profile well suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors. To give the table maximum strength and stability, Charles and Ray created a design that securely affixes the base to the 1-inch-thick tabletop; adjustable glides keep things on a even keel.

Following his apprenticeship with the legendary Constantin Brancusi, sculptor Isamu Noguchi began to experiment in environmental design, theatrical sets and later, product design. Noguchi created his first furniture prototypes for Herman Miller¿ in 1942 and went on to work with companies such as Steuben and Zenith. The Noguchi Table (1947) conceals nothing; revealing everything about the nature of simplicity. Two simple, smoothly shaped pieces interlock to form a tripod that supports a .75" thick slab of transparent glass. Practical and beautiful, the Noguchi Table will uphold a variety of objects in a professional reception area or the home. Simple assembly required.
Using the same technology that led to the invention of their iconic molded plywood lounge chairs, the Eameses designed their Plywood Coffee Table (1946) to have a lean, shaped form that was durable yet lightweight. Its saucer-like top and curved legs first caught the eye of Herman Miller? design director George Nelson during a one-man furniture exhibition at the MoMA in 1946. Herman Miller has been faithfully manufacturing the table for over 50 years.

Commonly referred to as Eiffel chairs, the Eames Molded Plastic Armchair and Side Chair (1948) were the first industrially manufactured plastic chairs. In creating these classic pieces, the Eameses honed two techniques with which they had been grappling for years: the use of a bent and welded wire base and a sculpted plastic shell seat. The results are supremely comfortable and timeless. Originally made with fiberglass-reinforced plastic, these chairs now take advantage of the benefits of more eco-friendly polypropylene. The molded shell seat has a high, flexible back and a deep seat pocket. The waterfall seat edge promotes comfortable seating for extended periods of time by reducing pressure on the backs of thighs. For residential and commercial use. Adjustable pod feet level on uneven surfaces.

The application of plastic has come a long way since the 1960s. New industrial molding techniques and better material mixes have freed the synthetic from its early rigid forms and enabled designers like Jerszy Seymour to craft a chair that respects the malleable character of the material. His Easy Chair is a single continuous biomorphic form of injection-molded plastic with no sharp edges or abrupt joints. Designed for indoors as well as out, it has gracefully flared waterfall legs, an angled seat for comfort, a back that cradles the torso and a drain hole to let the rain through. The Easy Chair safely stacks to 20 high.

Featuring a delicate filigreed appearance thatis supremely strong, these airy seats are sculpted out of steel rods. In his art, Bertoia experimented with open forms and metal work, and these chairs were an extension of that work. If you look at the chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture, said Bertoia. Space passes through them. The white chairs and regular vinyl seat pads (black, carrot and white) can be used outdoors with proper care and limited exposure to the elements.

The LEM Piston Stool s sculptural leather, stainless steel or beech wood seat not only swivels, but also adjusts easily from a counter height (26.5 ) to a bar height (31 ) with a lever that activates a gas cylinder. While utility strongly determines the form of this unique stool, it also has a visual lightness that creates the illusion of freedom from gravity.

Designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen was the architect, the chair's swivel base permitted guests to spin in their seat, thus becoming active participants in the busy hotel atmosphere.

PP Møbler took over the production of this elegant design icon in 1993. 'The Round One' as Wegner referred to it with his usual provincial modesty, is perhaps the most famous Danish piece of furniture of them all - which says a bit.

Already a year after the production of this chair startet at Johannes Hansen Møbelsnedkeri A/S, it was noticed by the American magazine for design and architecture, 'Interiors'. This turned out to be the beginning of Danish design's great international breakthrough. Yet, Wegner remained rather unimpressed with his own creation 'They could have made this hundreds of years ago - nothing new here' he uttered at several occasions, referring to the basically very traditional construction.

The Y-chair or The Wishbone Chair as it is often called due to the shape of the back, is a light chair and even being an armchair a relatively small piece of furniture. The curved hind legs and the semicircular top rail together with the elegant Y-back endows the chair with a gracious and welcoming air.

Jasper Morrison's inventive approach to materials and form takes new shape in the sleek, single-piece construction of the Air Chair (2000), manufactured in Italy. The celebrated designer used advanced gas molding technique for the shaping of this well-balanced chair; a materials mixture of polypropylene and glass fiber lends strength. The process creates a material of extreme durablity that is rigid enough to meet structural needs, yet flexes for user comfort. UV protected and has a hole in the seat for drainage, the Air Chair is inexpensive, easy to clean and stacks up to 10 high for storage.
